There is nothing left but walking. It has become the sole chance to get from one bank of the Angara river to another. The problem is that the Angara bridge has been closed for two weeks for repair. 
If life gives you a lemon, make some lemonade. Nobody groans about that. I've seen a lot of people rollerblading and riding their bikes in such an "exotic" place :)

This bridge connects two worlds for me. Those who know me know these worlds :-) I think it stays to be the most romantic part of Irkutsk mostly in winter when the frosty fog comes up from everhot Angara river. Poor Angara will be in love with Yenisey forever!:-)but in summer it's just hell with all its dust... hope things became better with all these repairs :-)
